Intellectual property (IP) allows you to own things you create in a similar way to owning physical property. It has evolved to protect what is essentially the fruit of your creative endeavour. You can control the use of your IP, and use it to gain reward. You should never underestimate how much your “intellectual property” is or could be worth.

Intellectual property protection gives you exclusive rights to your IP. There are potentially numerous methods of protection available to you. It is vital, therefore, that you know what intellectual property rights you own, what should be done to achieve the best possible protection of those rights, whether those rights are being exploited as well as they may be, and what to do if those rights are infringed.
