If you are uncertain at this early stage exactly how you wish to proceed, or indeed if you are advised that you have a really good case but know that your spouse intends to contest your case, you may prefer to agree an hourly rate with your solicitor. This method of charging also applies to contested separation or divorce cases.

What does this mean?

This means that you are not sure your case fits within our fixed fee offers or perhaps you feel a need to have “as much time as it takes” or you are aware that you have a complicated case. In these situations a fixed fee with fixed procedures and times may well not be suitable. We can then agree to work on an hourly paid basis with you.

In cases where we have quoted a fixed fee we reserve the right to ask you to switch to the hourly rate charge if your case requires more than the usual time input from us.

What’s included in the fee?

This will include, hourly at an agreed rate, any work that we undertake for you including advice, preparation, meetings and attendance at court.

We invoice all clients on a monthly basis and provide a detailed report of the work we have completed for you in that month. In that way you maintain control.
